Soft Tip Cannulas

Safety & flexibility

MedOne Soft Tip Cannulas have soft, flexible, high-flow silicone tips allowing gentle access to the retina. They are ideal for aspiration of fluid from on or beneath the surface of the retina. Longer silicone tips are ideal for drainage of subretinal fluid from peripheral detachments through an existing tear or break. The range comes in three gauge (g) sizes; 20g, 23g and 25g.

Fluid-injection cannulas

MedOne standard Cannulas are designed for general injection or aspiration of fluids or gas into the retinal space of the eye. Dual Bore Cannulas are designed for injection of a liquid such as perfluorocarbon or staining dye, while allowing simultaneous egress of BSS to relieve pressure build up. This enables easy use of surgical liquids while controlling intraocular pressure.

Silicone oil is used for prolonged tamponade after a surgical treatment for severe retinal detachment. The MedOne range of Silicone Oil Cannulas facilitates the whole process of viscous fluids injection and removal from the eye. MedOne MVR Blades are designed for making precise water-tight ports in micro vitreoretinal surgery. These blades are also used for making side ports in small incision cataract surgery. The small gauge instruments allow more efficient surgery, faster recovery time and better visual outcomes. The MVR blades come in two sizes 20g and 23g, and the micropicks come in 23g and 25g.

Subretinal cannulas

Safe penetration of the retina

Subretinal Cannulas allow safe penetration of the retina to either drain subretinal fluid or to inject medication. The 25g/33g PolyTip cannula with a 33g tip can be used for penetration through the retina, allowing drainage of subretinal fluid through a minimally traumatic drainage retinotomy. The thin wall tip has a flow rate similar to a 25g soft tip but with a smaller retinotomy, whereas the green tip allows excellent visibility.
