Haag-Streit Academy's exclusive live events and online webinars are delivered by experienced clinical speakers and product experts. Our excellent Faculty of specialists ensure an engaging and stimulating series of lectures, covering a variety of subjects, including; biometry, perimetry and slit lamp imaging.

Peter trained at Aberdeen University and completed a PhD in Surgery in Dundee, using ergonomic methodologies to evaluate surgical techniques, before switching to ophthalmic research, and a training programme in ophthalmology.

Between July 2014 until July 2015, Peter was the Fellow for Cornea and Anterior Segment at the University of Auckland. This role involved an extensive clinical and surgical workload in a unit led by Professor Charles McGhee, with exposure to complex and novel procedures in a tertiary centre of excellence. During his training, Peter acquired advanced experience in complex cataract surgery, corneal transplant and trauma repair. Since 2015, Peter has been working as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in NHS Fife and Forth Valley.

Sunil studied Medicine at Newcastle University, graduating in 2015. Following this, he began training as an Ophthalmologist in the South-West and currently works as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Bristol Eye Hospital. Sunil balances his clinical commitments with his academic work as a researcher and NIHR Academic Clinical Fellow. Sunil was previously the Chair of the Ophthalmologists Training Group (OTG) at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as sitting on the Council for the college and being a member of the trustee board. He continues to be actively involved at the College as the current national medical director’s clinical fellow.

Sunil is a specialist speaker for the Haag-Streit Academy Slit Lamp courses.

Haag-Streit Academy's bespoke on-site training program has been designed for small groups of clinical staff who wish to further enhance their skills in-house. Combining a mixture of tailored presentations and hands-on training, this course is ideal for units with multiple staff who are unable to attend the full day training courses offered at Haag-Streit HQ.

Fully air-conditioned, Haag-Streit Academy training facility is a comfortable environment that can accommodate up to 24 delegates. Many Haag-Streit Academy courses involve hands-on, practical workshops and the flexible space allows delegates to participate comfortably in these workshops within small groups, which enhances learning. Naturally, access to free Wi-Fi is provided. Based on the ground floor, there is easy access for wheelchair users. All Haag-Streit Academy courses include lunch and refreshments, as standard. Delegates will receive free-flowing tea, coffee and water throughout the day, as well as cakes and pastries and a buffet-style lunch. Our caterers can accommodate any dietary requirements.
