Tonometer Prisms

Goldmann tonometer prisms are manufactured at Haag-Streit in a process that has been fine-tuned over years. Experience, professional workmanship and intensive quality checks ensure highest precision for this important part of a diagnostic instrument that has become the Gold Standard for IOP measurement. 

Goldmann measuring prisms distinguish themselves by their optical and mechanical performance which allows for fast and reliable measurements in daily practice. They are largely handmade by experienced workers and checked for low tolerances in weight, optical quality, durability and for consistent measurement results. They can be disinfected with a  number of commercially available disinfectants. Also, Haag-Streit offers ‘Desinset’ as a helpful tool for disinfection and storage. If treated correctly and handled with some care they will last a long time and provide precision results for many, many patients, thus rendering it a good investment.

Note: Reusable prisms have a shelf life of five years, within that timeframe they should be used for a maximum of two years, to ensure maximum safety. Before use each prism should be carefully checked.
