Cold Light Source

The Cold Light Source consist of:

  • Fibre Optic cable of different lengths
  • Background Illumination for units
  • Holder for fibre optic cable
  • Pivoting mirror

Pivoting Mirror
Homogeneous background illumination is an essential for good slit lamp imaging. This is provided through an optional, high output fibre optic light source and either a holder mounted to the illumination device or by a separate swivelling device (pivoting mirror) which moves independently of the slit lamp illumination.

The Haag-Streit cold light source utilizes aperture control over illumination output rather then voltage control that is common in some devices. The colour temperature remains constant regardless of output level. Haag-Streit recommends the cold light source for optimum imaging results.

Drawer
The cold light source is available as a drawer for the HSM 901 tables or with a mounting bracket for 3rd party tables and units / stands. On the BD 900 the fibre optic cable is mounted underneath the mirror.
