Haag-Streit strongly recommends users to only use the Haag-Streit official Halogen lamp bulb to get the best performance from their Haag-Streit Slit Lamp. The halogen bulb is centered ex-works to obtain an optimal illumination.

The light beam from the pre-centered halogen bulb passes through the condenser, the slit diaphragm and the illumination lens, before it is directed to the patient's eye by the oblique mirror.

Halogen lamp bulb with flange is available especially for the BD 900 Slit Lamp and the previous model BC 900. For our other slit lamps we recommend the Tungsten lamp bulb.

All users are reminded to check the condition of their bulb on a regular basis. Older lamps produce less light and will compromise the view and or image.

Yellow barrier filter to provide additional contrast to fluorescein images can be mounted permanently on the Slit Lamps BQ 900® / BX 900® and inserted or removed as required.

The non-contact Hruby lens on the Haag-Streit Slit Lamps is a pre-aligned system. This means that once the slit lamp and lens have been properly aligned there is basically nothing one needs to do other than move the slit lamp forward until the retina comes into focus.

The LED illumination LI 900® has been designed exclusively for use with the Haag-Streit Slit Lamps BQ 900®, BM 900® and BP 900®. Slit and background illumination are continuously variable controlled by a control panel.

The Stereo Variator reduces the angle of stereoscopic observation from 13° to 4,5°. It facilitates the stereoscopic examination of the fundus, especially under unfavourable conditions such as high myopia, small pupils and peripheral parts of the fundus and the vitreous.
